Rovers will celebrate winning the treble with a party in the city centre
Hull KR capped what is the greatest season in the club’s history by winning the Grand Final for the very first time at Old Trafford last night. And to celebrate, they’re throwing a party in Hull city centre this afternoon.
Rovers will celebrate not just the Grand Final victory over Wigan Warriors but the club’s best-ever season having already won the Challenge Cup and League Leaders’ Shield earlier in the year.
Just as they did in the summer when celebrating the Challenge Cup win at Wembley and a first trophy in 40 years, Rovers will hold a parade from Sewell Group Craven Park to City Hall, with a celebration in Queen Victoria Square.
Starting at Sewell Group Craven Park at 15:45 on Sunday, the parade will make its way through east Hull and will arrive at Hull City Hall in Queen Victoria Square approximately 45 minutes later.
Hull KR parade route
- Craven Park
- Preston Road
- Marfleet Lane/Maybury Road
- Holderness Road
- Freetown Way
- Carr Lane, finishing on Paragon Street alongside Hull City Hall.
Once the buses have arrived at the City Hall the players and staff will once again take to the balcony to address the crowd, with a big screen erected to show the progress of the players along their route and to relive the Grand Final win and the highlights of this season. The event is scheduled to finish at 17:30.
A small number of road closures will be in place on Sunday to allow for the event. Paragon Street will be closed from 05:00 on Sunday morning until 20:00, while Carr Lane will shut from 13:00 to 18:30.
Bus users are advised to check with local operators to find out any changes to routes.
