A popular pub in Bridlington has opened its doors following a refurbishment worth more than £300,000. The Seabirds on Fortyfoot Road has been given a facelift which included a “complete transformation” of the inside with new flooring and furniture, an upgraded bar and new carvery area. The outside has also been “completely revamped”, The Seabirds’ parent company Admiral Taverns said.
In total, £313,000 was injected through a joint investment from the licensee, D&A Pub Group and Admiral Taverns. The pub chain said it has “breathed a new lease of life” into the building, which still has many of its original features but has been redecorated and refurbished. It has been given a new layout which Admiral Taverns said has “elevated The Seabirds’ atmosphere”. The outside has new signage and a fresh paint job.
Management team Sarah Beckett and Matt Beckett have worked in the pub industry for many years. Going forward they are “committed to creating a family-friendly hub that brings people together and supports all aspects of community life”, Admiral Taverns said.
Sarah said: “It has been absolutely fantastic to see this refurbishment come to life and the finished pub looks incredible. The Seabirds is a real community hub and the support we have had from locals since it reopened has made me very excited for the future. I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped make this transformation a success and also the entire team at Admiral Taverns for all their support along the way.”
Andy Longley, business development manager at Admiral Taverns, said: “I’m delighted to see The Seabirds reopened following a fantastic refurbishment. This pub has always played a role in bringing the community together, and I have no doubt that this will continue to be the case for many years to come. On behalf of everyone at Admiral Taverns, I’d like to wish him every success for the future.”
The Seabirds hosts weekly live music, darts teams, pool teams and quiz nights. The pub has also introduced an updated food menu, prepared in its new kitchen. There is also a carvery served every Sunday.
