Three boys have been rescued after getting cut off in caves by a rising tide on the East Yorkshire coast.
The RNLI crew at Flamborough were called in to help a Coastguard helicopter at Thornwick Bay on Saturday.
In a social media post, the lifeboat charity said: “Two casualties were clinging to a rock at the bottom of the cliffs, a third casualty was further out in the water.”
The boy in the water was rescued by the lifeboat before being winched up by the helicopter to the cliff tops for urgent medical attention.
The other two were taken aboard the vessel and moved away from the cliffs to allow the helicopter to lift them onboard.
Karl Price from Flamborough Lifeboat said the boy in the water “was really struggling”.
“We didn’t want to be any longer than we were,” he said.
Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team said a fourth boy in the sea had managed to reach the shore on his own.
A Coastguard spokesperson said the rescue was “a fantastic example of multi-agency teamwork, with Coastguard teams, RNLI volunteers, the rescue helicopter crew and ambulance colleagues working together in challenging conditions to bring all four people to safety”.
