Hocus Pocus will be first on the bill, followed by Kiefer Sutherland classic The Lost Boys
One of East Yorkshire’s most atmospheric 16th-century country houses will serve as a striking backdrop to a Halloween movie double bill this October. Outdoor Cinema is bringing two festive screenings to Burton Constable Hall on Saturday 31 October – a perfect Halloween activity for spooky film lovers.
Families can start the night with Disney’s Hocus Pocus which tells the story of the Sanderson Sisters. Gates open at 4pm and the film starts at 5pm. Once the little ones are tucked up in bed, the grown-ups are invited to come back for the 1987 cult vampire classic The Lost Boys. Gates open at 7.15pm and the film starts at 8.15pm.
Both films are shown on a giant LED screen on the parkland in front of the Elizabethan hall in Skirlaugh, and fancy dress is encouraged. Guests are asked to bring their own blankets or camping chairs, and picnics are welcome. Hot food and drinks are served by the Stables Kitchen, and there will be a bar for drinks.
Mo Davies, founder of Outdoor Cinema, said: “Halloween is our favourite night of the year, and you won’t find a better backdrop for it than Burton Constable. We don’t just put a film on a screen, we put on a show. So dig out the witch’s hat or the leather jacket, wrap up warm and come and make a night of it.”
Tickets cost £15 for adults, £10 for children and £35 for a family of four (two adults and two children). Under-3s go free, and carers go free with a valid access card. Tickets are on sale now. Parking is free on site and visitors are advised to bring warm layers, a torch and sensible footwear. BBQs are not allowed.
