The half-back is determined to take the ‘next step’ in his career.
Jake Arthur is eager to advance his career at Huddersfield Giants after signing a two-year contract with the club.
The Hull FC half-back was one of several players confirmed to be leaving the Black and Whites at the end of last month, prematurely ending what was supposed to be a two-year stay in East Yorkshire.
However, his future is now secured at the Giants until the end of 2028, with Arthur, who will play his final game for Hull against Leeds Rhinos on Friday night, joining a new-look Huddersfield side under Jim Lenihan next term.
And that link up excites Arthur, who has played in the NRL for Parramatta Eels, Manly Sea Eagles, and Newcastle Knights.
Speaking on his latest move, the 23-year-old Australian said: “I’ve spoken with Jim, and I love what he’s building there. I can take the next step with my footy at the Giants.
“I’ve seen the videos of the new training base online and it’s exciting what is being built; that’s only going to get the best results and the best performances from everyone.
“I’ve played with Zane Dunford and Chris Patolo at Manly, so I’m good mates with them already. It’ll be nice to have them there to make it a really easy transition for me.
“I can’t wait to get over there and bring my best effort. That’s one thing I’ll do every week: bring my best effort. I’ll be working as hard as I can to get results for the Giants.”
Meanwhile, Huddersfield director of rugby Andy Kelly believes Arthur will slot in at ease into the Giants side and is backing the player to make a ‘statement’ next year.
He added: “This is a very exciting signing, in my opinion. I feel that the way Jim Lenihan is setting us up to play, Jake fits that mould.
“He’s a controlling half and a fantastic addition. He’s ready to make a statement and we’ll give him the platform and the stage to do just that.”
