A Hull care home hosted its annual Superheroes Day – celebrating the “amazing” team that makes a difference each day and raising cash for the Alzheimer’s Society. Staff, residents, friends and relatives came together at Alexandra House and were able to nominate their own super hero as part of the day. The team constructed a nomination wall where people could detail who their “superhero” was, writing a little about them and even drawing a picture if they wish.

Staff teams dressed up and residents and their families took part in the festivities, with games, refreshments and home made cakes made by Ryan and Sam, the home’s chefs. A spokesperson for Alexandra Court said: “This is an annual event which all Highgate Care Homes take part in. It is about recognising our amazing teams which make a difference every single day while we also raise money for Alzheimer’s Society. We also put out some nominations for residents and families to nominate their very own superhero at Alexandra Court who has gone above and beyond. It was a fabulous day and just shows that our care home celebrates a person centred approach.”

The home was joined by Humberside Police and Our Sacred Heart Church.
