Hull City have an agreement in principle to sign Stuttgart full-back Josha Vagnoman.
The Tigers are pushing to add to their squad with a number of additions ahead of tomorrow night’s transfer deadline and right-back is known to be one of the positions they are keen on strengthening.
Vagnoman fits the bill then and as first reported by Sky Sports in Germany, City have an agreement in place with the German club to sign him.
The 25-year-old has other interest as the transfer window comes to a close with West Ham United and Nottingham Forest being reported as two clubs keen on the Stuttgart man, but the Tigers hope to be able to get the deal done.
A Germany international of two caps, with his last appearance for his country coming in March, Vagnoman is highly rated in the Bundesliga and he started for Stuttgart against Bayern Munich on Friday night.
The full-back scored a goal in that game, but he also turned the ball into his own net to help Bayern on their way to a 5-1 win.
Vagnoman started his career with his hometown club Hamburg, where he made 73 appearances in all competitions. Most of those appearances came in the German second division, with the club being relegated from the top fight in 2017-18, the year the full-back made his debut.
He made his return to the Bundesliga in 2022, when he joined Stuttgart and he has played 126 games for the club since.
That includes seven outings in the Champions League, eight in the Europa League and 97 in Bundesliga, with Vagnoman being considered the club’s first choice right-back for the last four seasons leading into the current campaign.
His goal on Friday night was his 10th in Stuttgart colours, showcasing his ability to get forward. He is German Cup winner, with Stuttgart getting their hands on silverware in May 2025 and he was part of the Germany under-21s side that won the European Championships in 2021.
