Hull KR forward Tevita Pangai Jr has seen his ban extended by another game after an unsuccessful appeal.
The forward was handed a four-match suspension by the RFL’s Match Review Panel last week for three separate late contact on passer offences during Rovers’ rearranged clash with Warrington Wolves.
He was dropped by Willie Peters ahead of Saturday’s game and with his ban kicking in this week, he wouldn’t be eligible to play again this season until the second week of the play-offs, should KR get there.
Well, he has seen another game added to that ban following an unsuccessful appeal, meaning he is now banned for the next five games.
Pangai Jr contested one of his Grade A charges in an attempt to reduce his suspension, pleading not guilty in front of a tribunal.
However, his challenge was dismissed and as a result, he has been given five more penalty points. That takes him over the threshold for a two-game ban on that specific charge.
As such, he is now banned for five-games, ensuring he will only be eligible to play again this season if KR reach the Super League Grand Final.
He serves the first game of his ban this week as Rovers go to Wigan Warriors with a weakened team and he will miss games against Huddersfield Giants and St Helens, too, as KR bring their regular season to a close.
With his contract expiring at the end of the season, there is a chance the prop could have played his last game for the Robins.
