

A patient’s age does not need to be a barrier to treatment, according to the cardiology team at Castle Hill.
Dr Manish Ramlall, a consultant intervention cardiologist, said: “Mr Byers is a very well man, leading a very active life, and, for him, age is very much just a number.”
Peter served in the Royal Navy and the Royal Corps of Signals, a career that took him round the world and allowed him to enjoy his passion for fishing as far afield as Malaysia.
“It’s a good life, and you’ve got to make the best of it,” he said. “Keep happy, keep walking.”
He said he received a card for his 90th birthday that set out the secret to a long and active life.
“It said ‘keep breathing’, which I thought was a good idea.”
