A man has been arrested after “stolen police uniform and machetes” were discovered inside a car in East Yorkshire. Humberside Police say officers spotted a man acting suspiciously around a vehicle in the area of Melton Old Road, in Melton.
A police spokesperson said the officers spotted what “appeared to be stolen police uniform and machetes” inside the car. Checks also showed the vehicle “was displaying what were believed to be false registration plates”.
A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft, possession of an offensive weapon, fraudulent use of a registration mark, using a motor vehicle without insurance, and causing the driving of a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence. He remains in custody while enquiries continue.
