Doorbell footage shows the neighbour allegedly trying to force his way into the house before challenging Ashley Stephenson to ‘fight like a man’
A furious homeowner was caught on camera seemingly trying to storm his way into a neighbour’s house demanding he ‘fight like a man’ over a ‘petty’ parking row. Ashley Stephenson was at home with his 14-year-old daughter when he answered the door to one of his neighbours on Monday, May 11.
The 41-year-old claims he parked his car outside his neighbour’s house for ‘less than 10 minutes’ after returning home from shopping, when he received an angry knock at the door.
The dad-of-one says he left enough room for his neighbour to manoeuvre his own car out of his drive, and insists that he planned on re-parking his vehicle after bringing his shopping inside. However, explosive doorbell footage captures the moment the disgruntled neighbour confronts Ashley over his parking.
When Ashley asks his unwelcome visitor to simply ‘go away’, the furious neighbour erupts in anger and appears to try and storm his way into Ashley’s home. When the homeowner shuts the door in his face, the irate man shouts to Ashley to come out and ‘fight like a man’.
Fearing his neighbour was trying to ‘attack’ him, Ashley says he shut his front door and rang the police about the altercation. Ashley, an engineer, said the incident has left his daughter petrified, branding the confrontation ‘appalling’. After sharing the clip on social media, people were quick to brand the man’s behaviour ‘disgusting’.
While some said it was a ‘petty’ thing to get so annoyed about, others blamed Ashley and said he should ‘stop parking on people’s drives then you won’t have people being frustrated, simple’. Ashley, who lives in Hull, said: “I’ve always known that parking has been a bit of an issue there. I bought a Smart car because parking was that bad.
“Then on May 11, there wasn’t anywhere to park. I’d just been out shopping so thought I’d park there to bring in my shopping. I parked where the dropped kerb was (outside his house).
“This is a public road. The car was there less than 10 minutes. I was planning on moving it. I parked so he could still get in and out if he needed to. I knew I wasn’t blocking anything or causing any problems at all.”
However, 10 minutes later, Ashley said his Ring doorbell alerted him to a visitor, capturing the moment his neighbour confronted him over his chosen parking spot. In the video, the neighbour says, ‘Why you being a c**k parking in front of my yard?’ and berates him for doing so.
However, Ashley becomes impatient and simply tells him to ‘go away’, immediately resulting in the irate man completely losing his temper and shouting ‘f****** piece of s***’ and ‘fight like a man’.
Ashley said: “He came around all guns blazing. He started banging on the windows. I was taken aback by it. I thought, ‘why are you at an 11? It’s nothing’.
“Apart from me asking him to move his car one time, I’ve never had any dealings with him at all. He starts coming into the porch but as he was forcing himself in, I forced the door back on him and closed the door.
“He wanted to attack me. I had young kids in the house that were petrified. If I hadn’t managed to get that door shut, he would’ve been in my house and he would’ve been assaulting me.
“It’s petrified my daughter. She’s been going around the house, checking the front door. This behaviour is appalling. You don’t go all guns blazing in the first instance, you just ask, ‘do you mind moving your car?’
“It was completely uncalled for. I couldn’t understand why he was coming around with such anger.”
Humberside Police said officers were in attendance following reports of an altercation at around 7.30pm on Monday, May 11, 2026. It was reported two people known to each other had a verbal altercation as a result of parking. Police said that, after both parties were spoken to, a safe resolution was reached.
