A three-year-old has amazed her parents and teachers by swimming 10 metres – an achievement well beyond what many would expect at such a young age. Skyla, from Hull, completed the “inspiring” feat after seeing a white feather earlier that day, believing her late grandfather was watching over her.
Her swim school’s owner says it shows “how emotional connections can play a huge role in young children’s development”. Puddle Ducks York, Hull and East Yorkshire is celebrating Skyla as she completed the impressive distance during a recent lesson, leaving teachers and family alike amazed.
Skyla’s mum said: “Earlier this year, Skyla sadly lost her grandfather. On the day of her breakthrough swim, she spotted a white feather on her way to the pool. I told her it’s a sign he’s watching her, and on that day she did the most amazing swim. She just kept going and going!”
