Current Seahawks captain Bobby Chamberlain and other Hull ice hockey legends will take to the ice on July 25 in a charity game raising funds for ReTribe, a support network for players across British ice hockey

Ice hockey players will step out of the summer heat and into the rink in a game that will see legends of the game and invited players go head to head for a good cause. The Hull alumni ice hockey game will raise funds for ReTribe, the independent player support and growth network that supports hockey players.
Face off will be at 5.30pm on Saturday, July 25 at Hull Arena. The game will feature Hull ice hockey legends including current Seahawks captain Bobby Chamberlain, alongside Anthony Payne and Mark Florence. It’s an occasion to honour ReTribe’s past work while supporting an organisation that aims to transform the futures of players across British ice hockey and beyond. It was founded by Nick Rothwell, a professional ice hockey player in the UK and Sky Sports broadcaster who navigated significant challenges along the way. ReTribe was born from his experiences and the insights gained through that journey.
One player, who asked to remain anonymous, said they “wouldn’t be here right now” without ReTribe’s help. The network sits as a bolt-on independent partner to ice hockey, working with clubs, teams, leagues and federations, without reporting back to them. It is there for players, coaches, officials, and parents, to give peer-to-peer support. ReTribe also offers learning led by sports psychologist Dr Misis Gervis. It aims to unlock potential in the game for the players it supports.
ReTribe is recognized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The organisation has also built meaningful relationships with the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) and the NHL Alumni Association, both interested in how ReTribe’s model applies to professional ice hockey. ReTribe’s ambassador network includes Tony Hand MBE, Liam Kirk, Logan Nielsen, Sam Lyne, Patrick Larkin, Beth Hill, Hollie Neenan, and European ambassador Tristen Robins.
