Hull City have agreed a deal to sell highly-rated youngster Aidon Shehu to Greek giants Panathinaikos, bringing an end to their long-term interest in the youngster, it can be revealed.
The Albanian youngster has impressed in the Tigers’ Under-21s this season, and he will now leave to join the club based in Athens, despite City wanting him to stay.
Hull Live understands Panathinaikos will pay in the region of £2.6m to sign the 19-year-old, in a move that rubber-stamps City’s determination to be on the right side of Financial Fair Play (FFP).

In selling the midfielder, along with Ivor Pandur, to Rangers, the Tigers have moved to ensure they will not face any punishment on their return to the Premier League.
Shehu arrived from Southend in 2024 and spent a spell on loan at non-league Scarborough in the second half of last season, and has been a regular for his country’s Under-21 side, but has never appeared for the Tigers’ first team.
Elsewhere, Hull Live understands Kyle Joseph’s move to Middlesbrough is set to be completed in the next 24 hours, while Kasey Palmer and Akin Famewo are also likely to be moved on imminently, with a club in the Championship and League One close to securing those respective deals.
