Fans in the area have the chance to buy the commemorative keepsake World Cup glasses at a selection of pubs
England fans can make sure at least one thing is ‘coming home’ with them this summer. Marston’s pubs in Hull and East Yorkshire are offering commemorative World Cup glasses to football fans.
The brand has unveiled the limited-edition pint glass to ensure football fans can take a piece of the action home when cheering on England during this summer’s World Cup. There will be 50,000 available to buy nationwide and are on sale while stocks last.
The memorabilia features a St George’s flag-inspired design and is available in a keepsake take-home box. They will be available to buy from June 11, coinciding with the first match of the tournament. In Hull, fans can pick one up in pubs including the Pelican, in James Reckitt Avenue, the Robin, in Bellfield Avenue and the Crooked Billet, in Ings Road, among others around the region.
The glasses celebrate the fans that have shared in England’s football highs and lows at local pubs for generations – whether that’s experiencing Gazza’s tears at Italia ’90, the drama of Euro ’96, England’s resurgence under Gareth Southgate or the Lionesses’ historic wins at the UEFA European Women’s Championship.
Fans can pick up a special commemorative glass for £5, or ‘unlock’ one for just £2 when buying a round of drinks. Buy three or more pints of draught alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks in one transaction and you may purchase one limited-edition pint glass for £2, subject to availability.
Neil Campbell, chief operating officer at Marston’s, said: “The World Cup is one of those moments in the calendar that brings the whole country together, with pubs right at the heart of the action. We’re incredibly proud of the role our pubs play in bringing communities together to share these memorable moments, whether that’s celebrating a big victory or tensely watching another nail-biting penalty shoot-out.
“We wanted to create something special for England fans – a keepsake that captures those shared good times and gives our guests something to take home with them.”
