Hull KR have confirmed the signing of Ryan Westerman from Hull FC with immediate effect, as first reported by Hull Live.
The young outside-back, a Beverley Braves junior, has signed a deal with the Robins until the end of the 2027 Super League season after completing the cross-city switch.
Westerman, 20, has made two senior appearances for the Black and Whites – making his debut against Catalans Dragons in September 2024 at the MKM Stadium. He also featured in Hull’s Challenge Cup third round 52-6 victory over community club York Acorn in January 2025, kicking eight goals from nine attempts.
The young prospect has also picked up first-team experience on loan at Hunslet, with seven appearances last year for the West Yorkshire outfit.
A Hull KR club statement read: “Hull KR are delighted to announce the signing of Ryan Westerman from Hull FC with immediate effect, with the young outside back joining the Robins on a deal until the end of the 2027 Betfred Super League season.
“The highly-rated youngster makes the switch across the city to Sewell Group Craven Park and becomes the latest addition to the squad as the club continues to build for the future.”
“A product of Hull FC’s youth system, Westerman has earned a reputation as a talented and hardworking outside back with strong athletic qualities and an impressive ability to finish opportunities out wide. His arrival adds further depth and competition to Hull KR’s outside backs as the Robins continue to strengthen their long-term playing group.”
Westerman had been contracted at the MKM Stadium until the end of next season.
Hull Live also reported earlier this week that Rovers have identified Warrington Wolves youngster Flynn Holden as a target as they plan for 2027 and beyond.
The 19-year-old plays either as a full-back or on the wing and while he is yet to make a first-team debut for Warrington, he featured on loan at Goole Vikings earlier this year.
