Nothing can cast a shadow over Hull today – it’s sunshine and smiles all the way from the crowds milling in Hull city centre to welcome their heroes, the Tigers.
In a bakingly-hot Queen Victoria Square, supporters have been gathering to give the Hull City squad a rousing reception, as the club returns to the Premier League for the first time since their relegation in 2017. The Tigers’ Oli McBurnie scored the only goal, in the 95th minute, to send Hull back up, in the Championship play-off final against Middlesbrough at Wembley on Saturday.
You can see a sea of black and amber and the joy written across the faces of fans as they wait for the players to appear on the balcony at Hull City Hall, following a promotion parade by open-top bus around the streets of Hull.
Hull Live photographer Donna Clifford is capturing all the excitement and activity there – see the picture gallery below.
