The latest on Jack Brown’s future.

Castleford Tigers head coach Ryan Carr played down reports of an immediate move for Hull KR prop Jack Brown – but confirmed the forward is already signed up for 2027.

Brown, 25, has made 30 appearances for the Robins since joining from Hull FC in a swap deal involving Yusuf Aydin.

That tally includes 15 appearances all from the interchange bench during Hull KR’s historic 2025 campaign, in which they won every trophy on offer.

It had already emerged that Brown would join Castleford when his contract at Sewell Group Craven Park expires, but speculation over an early exit intensified following Hull KR’s signing of Tevita Pangai Jr.

Carr confirmed Castleford have secured Brown’s signature while addressing fresh speculation, but insisted there is currently no deal in place to bring the forward to the OneBore Stadium ahead of schedule.

“Have we?” he laughed when asked about signing Brown early. “Let me know when that’s happening.

“He’s not in the building. The squad we’re running out this week [against St Helens] will be very similar to the one we ran out last week against York .

“It’s been documented that we’ve signed him for ’27. In terms of getting him in early, that’s not my wheelhouse. That’s Chezzy’s (Chris Chester, director of rugby) space.
