Sergej Jakirovic admits it’s unbelievable that his Hull City side have gone six games without a win at the worst possible time of the season, to leave their play-off hopes hanging by a thread.
Knowing they needed a victory at Charlton Athletic on Saturday to put pressure on Wrexham ahead of Sunday’s game at Coventry City, the Tigers delivered a woeful first half, but went in level thanks to John Egan’s header deep into added time at the end of it.
Despite dominating the second period, City again fell behind to a fine strike from Jayden Fevrier, having not learnt their lesson after Charlie Kelman’s stunner in the first period, and ended up losing 2-1.
Jakirovic was again frustrated, as he has been so often in recent weeks, with how poor his side were in both boxes, and now, he admits, given it’s out of their hands, the chances of getting back into the top six are slim.

City have it all to do going into their final outing of the season at home to Norwich City on Saturday afternoon, know they must find a result and hope for favours from elsewhere.
“For me, it is unbelievable that we cannot win one game in this part of the season,” he told Hull Live. “Every team in this league had those moments in their season, unfortunately we have that moment now.
“We have a very small chance (of reaching the play-offs). It is over, but it still isn’t mathematically over. You have hope, but first we have to win our game. It is now a very big problem for us. Now it is not in our hands.”
