Yorkshire Wildlife Park has teased what its new penguin facility will look like when it opens this year. To mark World Penguin Day today (Saturday, April 25), the popular attraction has released CG images of the upcoming enclosure.
The development is located next to Point Lobos, home of the Californian Sea Lions, and it will “create a major aquatic animal area for visitors to enjoy”.
John Minion, CEO of Yorkshire Wildlife Park, said: “We are very excited about bringing penguins to the park as part of an international conservation programme. They are hugely popular too.
“Construction is already underway and we can’t wait for it to open in the summer months. We expect the penguins will become a firm favourite with our visitors as many have requested them at the park, and our staff are also extremely excited to work with them.”
The park is famous for its large-scale reserves, including Lion Country, Leopard Heights, and the Land of the Tiger. Mr Minion added: “More details of this major animal development will be released in due course. So keep your eyes peeled for updates!”
The conservation-focused attraction offers visitors a mesmerising walk-through experience, coming almost face to face with some of the world’s most beautiful and at-risk species, including polar bears, black rhinos, giraffes and African painted dogs.
