Seven Super League players have been charged by the RFL’s Match Review Panel following the weekend’s action.
The most serious charges have been handed to Castleford Tigers forward George Hirst and Toulouse Olympique half-back Cesar Rouge. Hirst has been charged with a Grade B dangerous lift – an incident that was penalised at the time with Wigan Warriors kicking a penalty goal.
Meanwhile, Rouge has copped a Grade B dangerous contact charge for a tackle in Friday night’s game against Hull KR. Both players have been fined and handed three penalty points.
Elsewhere, there are five Grade A charges handed out to Toulouse forward Lambert Belmas, Leeds Rhinos winger Maika Sivo, St Helens prop Noah Stephens, York Knights front rower Xavier Va’a, and Bradford Bulls forward Leon Ruan. All five charges are for late contacts on the passer. However, Va’a is the only player to be fined on top of his charge, with the Knights prop handed three penalty points.
All seven players are free to play in Super League this weekend.
