An ankle injury picked up in the south of France.
Willie Peters has confirmed an ankle injury for star centre Oliver Gildart, who was forced off during Hull KR ’s 46-0 triumph over Toulouse Olympique.
The 29-year-old had a hand in several of Rovers’ tries during the clinical display in the south of France, before sustaining a knock in the second half at Stade Ernest-Wallon.
Hull KR have now won four consecutive matches and are firmly in the play-off picture for the first time this season, with a trip to Odsal next week to face Bradford Bulls in Super League for the first time since their return to the competition.
However, they may make the journey without Gildart.
“He could be a doubt,” Peters told BBC Radio Humberside. “He’s picked up a bit of an ankle injury – I don’t think it’s too serious, so fingers crossed.
“There’s a few other bumps and bruises, but I think everyone is looking okay. We’ll have to check up on them.”
Meanwhile, Elliot Minchella made a try-scoring return as Rovers ran in eight tries in total, including a brace from England international Joe Burgess.
The Hull KR captain had missed last week’s Challenge Cup tie against York Knights with a slight hamstring issue, watching on as his side secured a place in the semi-finals.
“It’s great to have him back,” Peters said of Minchella. “He provides a lot of energy, obviously his leadership and he brings a lot to our team. You can feel and see the energy in the dressing room, and that transferred into his performance.”
Karl Lawton, meanwhile, missed the Super League Round Eight victory due to injury, while Sam Luckley and Jack Brown were replaced in the match day squad by Bill Leyland and Jordan Dezaria, with the latter making his official club debut from the interchange bench.
“Karl had an ankle injury last week, so we had to make an early call,” Peters explained. “But because we’ve got that rotation, we wanted to go with guys that are fully fit.
“Sam is okay, but we wanted to rotate and give some guys an opportunity. It was important we did that – we’ve had a big start to the season, so we wanted to give guys an opportunity who have worked hard. Jack was the same.”
