Organisers of the Run For All event said the works ‘significantly impact the event route’

Hull 10k 2026 has been called off due to roadworks in the city that “significantly impact the event route”. This year’s edition of the annual road race, organised by Run For All in memory of Jane Tomlinson CBE, was set to take place on Sunday, May 31.

Organisers said the date had already been moved to accommodate rugby league fixtures but “after working tirelessly with Hull City Council and key stakeholders” it was decided ongoing roadworks around the city mean it is not possible for the event to be held this year.

In a statement, Run For All said: “While we recognise the importance of the event to our participants, partners, charities, and the wider community, this decision has been made following careful consultation with Hull City Council. The works significantly impact the event route, and in this instance, we have sadly not been able to identify a suitable date to safely host the road race this year.

“We are actively working in partnership with the council and relevant stakeholders to agree a suitable date for the event’s return in 2027. We’d hoped to have this signed off by the time of this announcement but understand the need to communicate this update.

“Run For All remains committed to delivering high-quality, inclusive road races that bring communities together and raise vital funds for charitable causes.” They added: “We would like to thank all participants, sponsors, partners, and supporters for their understanding and continued support.”

Those who have entered the race can transfer entry to another Run For All 10k in a different location this year, keep the entry for the 2027 Hull event, or receive a refund. Those affected are being asked to complete a survey by the end of April.

The Run For All 10k has been taking place in Hull for more than 15 years with thousands of runners getting involved to raise money for charities. It previously started in the city centre but was moved to Sewell Group Craven Park last year.
