It’s been a busy morning for the Match Review Panel

Hull KR man Peta Hiku has been charged by the Match Review Panel following Saturday’s Challenge Cup quarter-final clash with York Knights.

It’s been a busy morning for disciplinary, who have handed out three lengthy bans following the weekend’s action.

Fortunately for the Robins, though, Hiku has only been charged with a Grade A offence after late contact on the passer. The charge comes with one penalty point and ensures he is still some way off a ban.

Two Wigan Warriors players have been handed three-game bans after they edged out Wakefield Trinity on Sunday.

It was a ill-tempered and fiery contest and the Match Revenue Panel have banned players on both sides.

Sam Walters and Harry Smith are the two Wigan players in question with both men now set to sit out the next three matches unless appeals are made.

Walters has been hit with a Grade E striking charge for appearing to headbutt Jay Pitts at Belle Vue.

Meanwhile, Smith has been given a Grade E charge for making unnecessary contact with a player who could be injured. That seems to relate to him shoving Jazz Tevaga while the Wakefield man was on the ground after witnessing the Samoa international’s kick on Liam Marshall.

It means the pair will miss clashes against Castleford Tigers, Warrington Wolves and Bradford Bulls, with their next outing set to be the Cup semi-final clash with St Helens.

Tevaga has been banned for the aforementioned kick, which earned him a yellow card in the game. He has been handed a Grade D charge for striking, though, which carries a two game ban.

The loose-forward was also handed a Grade A late contact on the passer charge, which only adds to the penalty points he has accrued.

Catalans Dragons pair Romain Navarrete and Chris Satae have also been hit with the same Grade A charge for late contact. However, no further action has come there.
