Live music will be raising money for STAND Hull Heritage, One Punch Hull, and Variety – The Children’s Charity
Daz’s Rock 4 Charity is back for a night of live performances raising money for important causes at the heart of our city. Tickets are now on sale for the event at Jubilee Central in King Edward Street on Friday, May 8.
Hosted by Hull’s 107FM Pete Mills & Janine Gosling from the Breakfast Show, the concert will be headlined by award-winning musician Darren Sims BEM – also known as Daz – and his band.
The evening will also feature a variety of other musical acts, including Amy Winehouse tribute Louise Montgomery, singers Maddie Whatmough and Kristian, barbershop quartet Humber Harmony, classic rock band Re-Vamp, and acts from CASE Training – a Hull-based charity supporting young people who have learning disabilities.
Darren said the “amazing local talent” will be supporting the Lord Mayor of Hull’s two chosen charities: STAND Hull Heritage and One Punch Hull. It’s also raising money for a cause close to Darren’s heart, Variety – The Children’s Charity, which he is an ambassador for.
The event is being held in memory of Hull signmaker Alan Stutt, who sadly passed away in 2024. His bespoke hand-painted signs can be found across the city.
Speaking of Alan, Darren said: “He was a right character, what a lovely bloke he was, bless him. Quite a lot of people knew him, and we are all going to raise a glass to him.”
Darren said the hall at Jubilee Central holds about 600 people. There will be a variety of genres of music being performed and he said the event should appeal to both “young and old”.
He said: “I hope people really enjoy the atmosphere there – it’s an amazing venue. They’ve been really, really helpful and we are looking forward to hopefully sell it out if we can.”
Jubilee Central is a charity that supports the homeless in Hull. It recently opened its new coffee shop, The Living Room, with a menu designed by chef Nick Hill who previously owned award-winning restaurant The Hispanist in Paragon Arcade.
Tickets for Daz’s Rock 4 Charity can be bought from the Jubilee Central website.
