The off-season signing is yet to make his debut for Hull KR.

Hull KR’s off-season signing Jordan Dezaria has returned to the rugby league field after battling a string of hamstring injuries – but may have to wait to make his official club debut.

The 29-year-old France international joined the Robins from Catalans Dragons ahead of Hull KR‘s title-defending campaign but is yet to make his official debut.

That wait took a step closer last weekend when Dezaria featured for the club’s reserves side in the derby against Hull FC, marking a key milestone in his road back to full fitness.

Head coach Willie Peters admits the prop is still “off the pace a little bit” but is confident Dezaria will seize his opportunity when it comes.

“He had a couple of hamstring issues in pre-season, and he’s off the pace a little bit,” Peters said, with Dezaria having last featured in pre-season against Wakefield Trinity before a second hamstring injury struck.

“He’s more of an explosive sort of player. We know that we’re not going to get a 30 or 40 minute stint out of Jordan, it’s going to be more explosive.

“For me, it’s when we think we need that. For the last two weeks, I’ve been happy with our middles. Obviously we weren’t at it against Leeds, but they had the chance to redeem themselves, and we’ve got Jack Brown waiting as well.

“There’s a couple there waiting for an opportunity and I know when Jordan gets his, he’ll take it. There’s just a few things he knows he needs to work on, and we’re looking at that in training and when he plays.”

Meanwhile, James Batchelor is set to return to action against Catalans Dragons after missing the Challenge Cup fourth round victory over Huddersfield Giants.

It’s less good news for Rhyse Martin, who faces a month out with a broken foot discovered after the Robins’ 52-12 win at the Accu Stadium, which secured their quarter-final spot in the cup.

“It’s obviously disappointing for Rhyse, and for us as well,” Peters said.

“He played through it and thought he was okay, but scans revealed a break. It’s incredible he played through it, but unfortunately he’ll be on the sidelines for a month.

“Rhyse was starting to find his feet in 2026 and grabbed his chance on the weekend starting in the back-row. It’s disappointing, but we look forward to him returning in a month.”

On a positive note, Dean Hadley has been declared fit to play after an early rest against the Giants last weekend.
