Our Hull KR player ratings after Hull KR cruised to the quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup.
Jack Broadbent – 7: Comfortable at the back all afternoon and did a good job to get involved when he could, including a try after supporting a loose offload from Luckley in the second half.
Tom Davies – 8: Huddersfield couldn’t handle Hull KR ’s right edge all afternoon, with a couple of crucial plays. Surprisingly, not one of the eight try-scorers on the day.
Peta Hiku – 9: Found a lot of joy on Hull KR’s right edge, scoring his second try of the year before his breaks help set up scores for Amone and Luckley on either side of half-time. He was named the official player of the match and was out standout man.
Oliver Gildart – 7: Had to pass a head injury assessment in the first half. Didn’t put a foot wrong, but Hull KR had all the joy on the other edge. When they did go down the left, he supported a break from Burgess to score.
Joe Burgess – 6: Assisted his centre partner with a long-range break in his biggest play of the afternoon.
Mikey Lewis – 8: Two tries for the maverick half-back – both long-range efforts. A 70 metre break before throwing a dummy to beat the full-back for his first, while he supported a Rhyse Martin break and chased down a kick from the back-rower to score. He was rested early with the win secured.
Tyrone May – 6: Dominated the game last week, but others stood out more in the cup tie. Gave away an intercept try on the hooter with an attempt long-range pass.
Dean Hadley – 7: A rare early shower for the consistent forward, with Peters using an opportunity to rest some of his stars. He was strong in the middle.
Jez Litten – 8: Lively from hooker across the first half and looked dangerous, before being replaced by Bill Leyland for his opportunity in the first-team.
Sauaso Sue – 7: Another strong start from the prop forward in the middle.
Rhyse Martin – 8: Proved too strong against Huddersfield to set up Lewis’ second try, smartly putting boot to ball. Converted eight tries from nine attempts.
Tom Whitehead – 7: A try-scorer with his first-team opportunity, having made his debut against Lock Lane in the previous round of the Challenge Cup. A couple of mistakes across his display.
Elliot Minchella – 7: Didn’t appear too happy when he was taken off after 30 minutes, but he eventually came back on as his side dominated the score.
Sam Luckley – 7: An earlier stint from the interchange bench and enjoyed his first try since May 2025, supporting a long-range break from the outside-backs. His offload also helped assist Broadbent’s try in the second half.
Jai Whitbread – 7: Made a good impact from the bench straight into the middle.
Tom Amone – 8: The powerhouse prop was brought on halfway through the first half and made an immediate impact with a charging run. Proved hard to handle, and supported a break from the outside-backs to score for 24-6 at the time.
