City will go in search of an 11th away win this weekend
Lewis Koumas has hailed the trust placed in him by Hull City head coach Sergej Jakirovic, after scoring the winner for the Tigers against play-off rivals Wrexham.
Koumas, who arrived on loan from Liverpool in January, scored with a fine header to put City 2-0 up at the Racecourse, and though the hosts rallied late on, they were unable to stop the visitors claiming a deserved victory.
The winger has been deployed both out wide and up front by Jakirovic, but within that he has been afforded the license to roam around. It has seen him score vital goals at Blackburn Rovers and against Derby County in recent weeks.
After a difficult first half of the season on loan at Birmingham City, the 20-year-old is relishing his spell in East Yorkshire with the Tigers on course for a play-off place.
“I’m really enjoying my time here, just focusing on the next game and just keeping my head down, working hard,” the Welshman told Hull Live.
“Whenever I’m on the pitch or starting, just looking to impact the game and do the best I can, so yeah, just gonna keep continuing to do so.
“I think he trusts me wherever I’m gonna play, anywhere across the front three, I can have an impact on any game, so yeah, it’s just a good attribute to have.”

That victory in North Wales ended a run of successive defeats against promotion rivals Ipswich Town and Millwall in the past few days, and ensured the Tigers got back to winning ways with a 10th away success of a successful campaign.
Attention now turns to the next two games this side of the international break, with City going to West Brom on Saturday before hosting already relegated Sheffield Wednesday.
Koumas knows the Tigers must keep their foot down and not ease up, and not allow anyone below them the chance to take advantage of any dropped points.
“It’s ended on a high; it’s been a really tough week physically for everyone. We’re just looking to keep going and keep getting points on the table,” he explained.
“It’s a big game Saturday, and then we can have a full week building into the next game, and we’re just gonna look to keep getting points.
“That’s just the Championship, it’s up and down, it’s a really, really tough league. You never know what it’s gonna bring every year, so you’ve gotta just look to adapt and just keep going as you’re going.”
