Gogglebox fans were given an insight into Lee Riley’s relationship with his long-term partner Steve in this evening’s episode.

Gogglebox’s Lee Riley has been in a loving relationship for more than 30 years and fans want to know all about their story.
The acclaimed Channel 4 sensation Gogglebox aired tonight, Friday, March 13, and early in the episode, viewers were transported to Jenny Newby and Lee Riley‘s Hull caravan.
Lee was caught on the phone chatting with his partner Steve, and could be heard asking: “So you’ve got the washing out today?”
“I did today, finally, the first time since I’ve been back in a month. Can you believe that?”
Jenny then enters and queries who Lee is speaking to, to which he responds: “I’m talking to Steve.”
She then snatches the phone from his grasp and exclaims: “Hiya love! You alright?”, before instructing Lee to “put the kettle on”.

It remains unclear how they met, but Lee Riley has been romantically involved with Steve Mail for over 30 years.
To celebrate their 31st anniversary, Lee posted a throwback photo of them on Instagram, captioning it: “Wow. Mr Mail Happy Anniversary 31 years together with love, tears, heartache but then again who’s perfect me and you that’s all counts.”
When not filming Gogglebox with Jenny at their Hull caravan, Lee spends time with Steve in Cyprus where he resides, although it’s unconfirmed whether they co-own the property.

Lee and Steve, who refers to himself as Lee’s “better half” on X, previously known as Twitter, had to endure a month apart during the coronavirus pandemic as Gogglebox required isolation for filming.
Steve took to Instagram to share a delightful update of their reunion, writing: “From sunny Cyprus to wet and miserable Hull but Very happy to be Reunited with my better half and so good to see my dear friend Jenny.”
This wasn’t the only instance where the pair have shared endearing messages. Three years ago, Lee posted a charming photo of them in front of their Christmas tree.
The Gogglebox star wrote: “What day is it, haven’t a clue it’s between Christmas Day and New Year ‘s Eve but loving been home in Cyprus with my man,” followed by a heart emoji.
In another post that same year, Lee shared another picture of them and captioned it: “Home is where the heart is.”
Lee isn’t the only one smitten, as his best mate Jenny celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary with her husband Ray in August 2025.
Ray has never featured on Gogglebox and generally prefers to stay out of the limelight.
