The popular store has been shut since January as it undergoes a major refresh
Marks and Spencer has announced the reopening date of its Anlaby Retail Park store following a major “refresh”. The food hall has been shut since the end of trading on Saturday, January 24 with the retailer promising an “exciting new chapter” for the popular store once it reopens.
It will welcome back customers from Thursday, March 12 with a host of new and revamped offerings. M&S previously told Hull Live these will include a bigger, brand-new produce section and in-store bakery along with a takeaway coffee counter serving a range of barista-made drinks. There will also be a ‘cheese barge’ and dedicated flower and wine shops.
The store is also getting new flooring and lighting as well as changes to its exterior including a new main sign above the entrance. As well as revealing the reopening date on the store’s windows, the retailer said on social media: “Exciting news! We’re delighted to announce that our brand new M&S store will officially open on the 12th of March!
“Join us as we open our doors and bring you the very best of quality food and everyday essentials. We can’t wait to welcome you in store and celebrate this exciting new chapter with our community.”
The Anlaby store first opened in July 2010 when it was known as M&S Simply Food. It was the first retailer to open at the then newly-constructed retail park off Springfield Way.
Meanwhile, the M&S store at Kingswood is set to close to make way for a new full range store located in part of the nearby Matalan unit which is set to be ready to welcome customers by late 2027. It was recently revealed the cafe at the existing store there is to shut.
The cafe at the Anlaby store closed last September. Hull has been without a full-line M&S store since the historic Whitefriargate branch shut nearly seven years ago.
