‘Every change is designed to make shopping easier, simpler and more enjoyable’
Shoppers are being welcomed back to a refurbished Iceland store at North Point Shopping Centre on Bransholme. The store originally closed earlier this year while work took place.
Today (March 5) shoppers will be able to enjoy the ‘substantial makeover’ as the doors reopen. Customers will also find new self-service checkouts, which aims to keep queues moving during busy periods.
The exterior has been refreshed with a brand new shop front. The layout of the inside has been redesigned to make the store easier to navigate alongside improved fixtures and fitting throughout to elevate the facilities available to local shoppers.
Kristian Barrett, Chief Operating Officer at Iceland Foods said: “Our focus is on improving our stores to give customers the very best shopping experience, and the Bransholme Centre refresh is an important step in that journey. We’re thrilled to open the doors to the newly updated store.
“With its brighter layout, improved fixtures and thoughtful new features, every change is designed to make shopping easier, simpler and more enjoyable.” As part of the re-opening, the local store is also celebrating one special member of the team, who has spent 35 years at Iceland Bransholme Centre.

Long‑serving colleague and Sales Assistant Susan Coates reflected happily on her career at Iceland, commenting: “I’ve been made to feel welcome from the day I started in 1990 on the tills, and I’ve worked my way around the store in nearly every role possible. The deals that we have at Iceland have helped the store to become a lot busier, but I still see the same customers that shopped here when I started.
“Everyone who works at Iceland, from management to the drivers, works together to help each other. We’re all looking forward to the refit and the difference it will make to our customers. The food shop is a weekly necessity for most people, so we’re excited to give shoppers a breath of fresh air when they visit our store.”
