The popular prop wants the taste of success again

Popular Hull KR prop Sauaso Sue believes the club have become addicted to winning and don’t plan on giving away that feeling of victory.

Last season’s treble winners have already added another major trophy to their haul this year with the World Club Challenge success over Brisbane Broncos, meaning the now quadruple trophy winners have captured the complete set of every honour available.

Not content with winning it all, Sue says the feeling of playing in big games, of experiencing the moments of victory and the celebrations after is driving the 2026 team, with everyone eager to taste success again.

Now in Las Vegas as the world champions prepare to take on Leeds Rhinos in Sin City, the 33-year-old fans’ favourite says Rovers don’t intend on taking their foot off the gas.

“I guess it is addictive, winning,” Sue tells Hull Live. “Winning is addictive, but it’s not just the winning. There’s big games, those big moments you want to experience.

“We want to chase them again. This is a new year and everyone is starting with those goals, but we’ve got to create those memories again and chase them until we get them.”

Last week’s World Club Challenge means Rovers have played just one Super League game so far and sit alongside Castleford Tigers and Huddersfield Giants as teams yet to win a game in the league. With just one match played, that’s of no concern right now, but the test ahead is difficult. No more so than this week against the much-fancied Rhinos.

Leeds have had a mixed start but arrived in Vegas on the back of a good display to beat a York team who upset the Robins. They’ll fancy their chances and are likely to use a chance to beat the champions as a boost to kick-start their early season momentum.

“I guess everyone’s thinking that we’re the hunted now and we’ll be seen like that,” adds Sue.

“I think with how we’ve trained and our approach, I think we’re still the hunters. We’re hunting victories and trophies.

“It’s going to be an interesting competition this year, but we’ll focus on ourselves at the moment. I’m pretty confident in what we’re going to bring.”
