Police were called to reports of “an altercation involving a weapon” near Bricknell Avenue

A man is appearing in court on a charge of attempted murder following what police described as a report of a “serious assault” in West Hull. Humberside Police said it was believed a woman suffered a “serious head injury” during the incident in Appleton Road, near Bricknell Avenue, at 5.40pm on Tuesday.

The force said a man was charged with attempted murder and a woman was charged with wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon. In a statement, Humberside Police said: “A man and a woman have been charged following reports of a serious assault on Appleton Road, Hull.

“Scott Harrison, 21-years-old of Bridlington Avenue has been charged with attempt murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. Bethany Davis, 25-years-old of Appleton Road has been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

“Both individuals have been remanded into custody awaiting a hearing at Hull Magistrates Court on Thursday, 26 February. Officers were called to reports of altercation involving a weapon outside a property on Appleton Road, Hull at approximately 5.40pm on Tuesday, 24 February.

“It is believed that a woman sustained a serious head injury as a result of the altercation.”
