Hull City face QPR this weekend and Dean Holden will continue as part of Sergej Jakirovic’s staff

Sergej Jakirovic’s back-room team remains in tact after assistant head coach Dean Holden turned down the chance to leave Hull City.

Holden, who has been at the MKM Stadium since last July, had been offered the manager’s job at Turkish side Kayserispor.

But the 46-year-old has chosen to stay with the Tigers as they seek to convert their outstanding season into promotion to the Premier League.

Holden, who had a playing career that saw him play more than 400 games in the lower leagues, joined City in the summer having been assistant at Adana Demirspor, which followed a stint under Steven Gerrard at Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq.

Kayserispor, who are second bottom of the Super Lig, are said to be close to parting company with Radomir Dalovic, who ironically replaced Jakirovic after the Bosnian saved them from relegation last season.

Marko Salatović, Marin Ivančić and Andjelo Roguljic followed Jakirovic from Kayserispor.

As a result Holden will continue on the sidelines when the Tigers face QPR at home this weekend.
