Bridmas Day is back on the summer calendar for a third year
After two successful years, Bridmas Day celebrations will be returning to Bridlington promenade and South Beach this August. Taking place on Wednesday, August 5, this year’s Bridmas Day is on track to be bigger and better than ever, and East Riding Council would like to invite local businesses to take part in the event.
Bridmas Day brings festive cheer to the East Yorkshire coast with a day packed full of Christmas themed fun for all the family. From Santa and elves to Christmas crafts, food, games, live music, and much more, it has proven to be a popular event in previous years.
The event, which has received national TV and radio coverage, aims to highlight Bridlington as a year-round destination, advertising what Bridlington has to offer in the winter and showcasing the coastal town as more than just a summer holiday retreat. To extend the celebration further into Bridlington and strengthen partnerships with the local community, businesses are being invited to participate by decorating their stores and wearing Christmas attire – they are also welcome to come down to the South Beach to take part in a day of festivities.
For 2026, Bridmas celebrations will be held on South Beach, inside Bridlington Spa, at Sewerby Hall and Gardens and at East Riding Leisure Bridlington, with more details to be announced in the coming months. Councillor Nick Coultish, East Riding cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism, said: “Bridmas Day has quickly become one of Bridlington’s most loved summer events.
“It’s a fantastic way to showcase the creativity, community spirit and year‑round appeal of the town. We’re delighted to invite local businesses to join in the celebrations, their involvement helps bring the whole event to life and creates an unforgettable experience for residents and visitors alike.
‘’I look forward to seeing more people than ever take part in and enjoy the fantastic event.’’ To find out more information, register interest in taking part and find out how Bridmas Day can promote your business, please email bridspa@eastriding.gov.uk and to see more information on Bridmas Day and check out the 2025 celebration, visit Brid-mas Day
