The café previously known as Dulcie’s has undergone a big refurbishment

Dove House Hospice is inviting new and returning customers to its onsite café after a significant refurbishment and rebrand. It will officially reopen on Friday, February 13, at 10am.
Previously called Dulcie’s, the café is now known as The Kitchen by Dove House. It has updated décor, with a light and relaxing colour scheme, and a new menu.
Owned and operated by the charity, the café in Chamberlain Road, near James Reckitt Avenue, plays an important role in raising funds within the community. Profits contribute to vital services for patients and their families.
The transformation marks a new chapter for the café and features a modernised interior, improved seating, upgraded equipment and a refreshed menu.
As well as a selection of cakes and scones with cream, there is hot food and breakfasts available. Options include Full English, Bacon Sandwich, Eggs Benedict, and Vegan Breakfast.
The redesigned space offers a calm and inviting environment for the community to visit for a meal, snack, or simply a cuppa. With breakfasts served from 8.30am, The Kitchen by Dove House is open every day until 4pm.
Sarah Cash, Deputy Chief Executive at Dove House, said: “The refurbishment and renaming of our onsite cafe represents our continued commitment to both the community and the vital work of the hospice.
“Every visit helps us provide specialist care to adults in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire with life limiting illnesses.
“We wanted this updated space to be welcoming and uplifting as we know how important it is not only for our regular customers but also family members who use the café as a place to have a break when they are visiting a loved one in our care.”
Dove House Hospice Head Chef, Lee Davidson, added: “We are so excited to finally be able to share The Kitchen by Dove House with the public after months of planning.
“We can’t wait to open the doors to our regulars and welcome in new customers too. As well as the refurbishment, we have also revised the menu and are looking forward to serving up some new dishes alongside popular favourites from before.”
The Kitchen by Dove House is located on the Dove House main site on Chamberlain Road, Hull, just to the left of the main hospice Reception and will be open every day from 8.30am.
