A man tragically died after a crash on a rural East Yorkshire road at the weekend. The incident happened in the Kilham area on Saturday evening.

According to Humberside Police, at around 7.30pm it was reported that a blue Ford S-Max travelling south-west on Kilham Lane “mounted a grass verge at the junction with Burton Road and collided with a tree”.

A police spokesperson added: “Emergency services were deployed. However, an occupant of the car, a 31-year-old man, sustained fatal injuries and sadly died at the scene.

“His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist trained officers at this difficult time. A 34-year-old woman who was also in the vehicle was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision, or anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist with our enquiries, to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 376 of 7 February 2026.”
