The Robins meet the NRL Premierships at the MKM Stadium this month.

Brisbane Broncos have named a 20-man squad ahead of this month’s World Club Challenge game against Hull KR. The NRL Premiers take on the Super League champions at a sold out MKM Stadium on Thursday 19 February, with the large majority of their Grand Final winning side included in the travelling party.

The Broncos will be looking to become the first NRL side to win the World Club Challenge since 2020 following Penrith Panthers’ defeats to St Helens and Wigan in 2023 and 2024 – with head coach Michael Maguire naming a strong squad for the clash.

After impressing for Australia in the Ashes last autumn, Reece Walsh will be looking to star on U.K. soil once again. He is joined by Kangaroo and Origin teammates Patrick Carrigan and Gehamat Shibasaki.

Elsewhere, Tongan centre Kotoni Staggs is included, as is New South Wales and Samoa powerhouse Payne Haas. Veteran rep players Ben Hunt and Adam Reynolds also make the squad.

New Broncos signings Grant Anderson and Aublix Tawha are also included, while Blake Mozer and Jack Gosiewski make their returns from injury.

Brisbane won the NRL for the first time in 19 years with Grand Final victory over Melbourne Storm last October. They last contested the World Club Challenge with St Helens in 2007, losing 18-14 to the Super League side.

They also featured in an expanded series from 2015 to 2017, defeating Wigan 14-12 before hammering the Warriors 42-12 the following year. They lost 27-18 to Warrington Wolves in 2017.

The Broncos land in England on Sunday 15 February and, as first reported by Hull Live, are set to meet Rovers’ cross-city rivals Hull FC in a training event on Monday 16.
