
A man was arrested at the scene on Cottingham Road on suspicion of offences including drug driving
Two people were injured when they were hit by a car on a major Hull road, police have said. A man was also arrested at the scene on suspicion of offences including drug driving.
The incident happened on Cottingham Road near the junction with Beverley Road at around 6.30pm on Thursday (January 22). Humberside Police say a Fiat was involved in a collision with two pedestrians – a 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman.
They were then “taken to hospital to receive treatment for injuries that are not thought to be life threatening”. A section of the road was closed for a few hours while emergency services responded to the incident before reopening later in the evening.
A police spokesperson added: “A 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of a class B drug and driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a drug above the specified limit.
“He has since been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue. If anyone witnessed the collision or has CCTV or dashcam footage from around the time the collision occurred, please call our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 375 of 22 January 2026.”
