Data shows the 100 girl and boy names that are falling out of favour fastest

Dozens of baby names could disappear in 2026 as parents change what they are choosing for their children, experts say. Each year, hundreds of thousands of parents register their babies’ names on the BabyCenter app , and while some names are climbing fast , others are sliding off the charts.

The data shows names like Sasha. Mia, Gabrielle, Danielle, Lilian and Abby are falling out of favour, as well as Dominick, Harry, Frank and Bruce.

BabyCentre data shows nontraditional spellings of popular names, like Charleigh, Alivia, Maddison, Emmitt, and Mohamad, are on the out along with names inspired by places such as Malaysia, Dallas, and London for girls and Boston for boys.

Boyas names ending in ‘y’ like Huxley, Grady, Rey, Corey, and Harry are on their way out of the top 1,000 along with names that start with ‘d’ or ‘k’ like Danielle, Dylan, Kenna, Kinley, Dominic, Dev, Kylian, and Karim.

These girl names saw the steepest decline from 2024 to 2025:
