Whether you were super organised and did the majority of your gift-buying in last year’s Boxing Day sales or you’re scrambling for presents online in a last-minute rush, Christmas shopping is undoubtedly a fundamental part of the festive season.
We’ve unearthed some pictures of busy crowds in Hull city centre in Christmases many moons ago, as well as the iconic Santa’s grottos in Princes Quay Shopping Centre, for which the theme was different each and every year, from our archives.
