The Parliamentary petitions getting the most signatures in Hull and East Yorkshire have been revealed

The issues that matter most to people in Hull and East Yorkshire right now have been revealed.

Each week, residents add their names to parliamentary petitions calling for changes on issues they care about. These petitions offer a snapshot of public concern at any given time and, as of December 12, the most prominent issue in Hull and East Yorkshire is the proposed introduction of digital ID cards.

The second most popular petition calls for funding so all infants are offered Type 1 Diabetes Testing in routine care, and the third calls for offshore detention and mass deportation for illegal migrants.

Only British citizens or UK residents with a valid UK postcode and a verified email address are eligible to create or sign a parliamentary petition.

Petitions that receive 10,000 signatures must receive a formal response from the Government. Once a petition reaches 100,000 signatures, it becomes eligible for debate in Parliament, although MPs can choose to schedule a debate before this threshold is met.

Below are the petitions that attracted the highest number of signatures this week in each Hull and East Yorkshire constituency. Petitions with fewer than 25 signatures have been excluded.
