St Stephen’s will also welcome back its much-loved Christmas Market
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas as St Stephen’s gears up for the festive season. Next week, the shopping centre will reveal its new Christmas lights as well as host a community concert.
Back for the third year, the festive concert will transform the centre into a hub of seasonal joy, featuring feel-good performances from Collingwood Primary School and the All For One Choir. The concert, which is hosted in partnership with Tribfest, will be held outside Tesco Extra.
The concert will run from 5pm until 8pm, culminating in a lively performance from a soul, funk and Motown band – the perfect finale to a night of festive music and community celebration. Adding to the festivities, St Stephen’s will welcome back its much-loved Christmas Market, opening on Thursday, November 20 and running until Friday, January 2, with a selection of stalls serving up festive favourites including German sausages, waffles, hot chocolate and mulled wine.
Jim Harris, centre manager at St Stephen’s, said: “The countdown to Christmas is officially on, and we can’t wait to see the centre lit up and buzzing with festive fun once again. We’ve planned a brilliant evening of live performances lined up to get everyone into the Christmas spirit – from talented local choirs to a feel-good Motown finale. It’s always such a special night that brings the community together.
“With the wider city’s Christmas lights switch-on taking place just next door, it’s the perfect opportunity to make an evening of it. Pop into St Stephen’s to enjoy the music, grab a bite to eat or catch a film after the celebrations – there’s plenty for the whole family to enjoy.”
Doreen’s, a local group supporting people across Hull with essential items and community projects, will be at the centre on Saturday, December 6 offering a Christmas gift-wrapping service that lets visitors get their presents wrapped while supporting a fantastic local cause.
