  1. A jealous cocaine user deliberately smashed his car into his girlfriend’s vehicle at speed, spinning it round and overturning his own car, Hull Crown Court heard.
  2. Coleman admitted nine offences including dangerous driving, assault and possessing cocaine and cannabis after the incident on September 8.
  3. After the collision, Coleman tried to drag the terrified woman from her Audi by her foot before getting into her car himself and driving away. He then crashed the Audi into a garage and house gates in Swinefleet, causing £800 worth of damage.
  4. Recorder Taryn Turner told Coleman: “It was highly dangerous driving committed against a background of jealousy, obsession and substantial cocaine use.”
  5. Coleman’s defence said he had turned to drugs as a coping mechanism following a serious motorcycle accident in June last year, and that cocaine had distorted his view of the relationship.
  6. Coleman was handed a one-year suspended prison sentence, a five-year restraining order and a three-year driving ban, and must pass an extended retest before returning to the road.
