A number of serious cases have been dealt with over the past few weeks
There has been no shortage of criminals locked up during October, with some serious cases dominating hearings in court. They include a sex offender jailed for nine years, another who violated the dead body of a woman and a “confidence trickster” who cheated trusting people out of more than £365,000.
Other cases include a thug who attacked a woman with a machete, a street robber who attacked a man in a random beating and two obsessed internet users who thought that they were exchanging messages with teenage girls, only to get a nasty shock. Also jailed were a serial drug dealer, a man who attacked his ex-girlfriend and a man who blackmailed a teenage girl.
These are some of the cases that have been heard at Hull Crown Court and, in one case, at Grimsby Crown Court, during October.
