The Brough development was completed three weeks ahead of schedule
A new Starbucks drive thru has opened its doors in East Yorkshire after a construction company completed the development ahead of schedule. The coffee giant recently opened at the new retail scheme in Bluebird Way, Brough, with five more units set to open soon.
Spades only went in the ground in March on the scheme, which has been driven forward by Leeds business Artium Construction Limited. The company completed the project nearly three weeks ahead of schedule, and has let every one of its units, including one which has been snapped up by Domino’s.
Alongside six retail units the development has been kitted out with E.ON electric vehicle chargers outside. As principal contractor, Artium gave early access to the site so the Starbucks drive-thru could be fitted out while building work continued.
Artium delivered the whole job itself, from the steel frame and the car park to the drive-thru lane and the retail units alongside it.

Martin Watson, managing director of Artium Construction, said: “We are delighted to have successfully completed this retail park development on behalf of our client. The project represents a fantastic example of collaborative delivery, with the whole team working together to overcome the challenges associated with a live, fast-paced development and deliver a high-quality scheme ready for occupation.
“We are extremely proud of the finished development and grateful to our client, consultants and supply chain partners for their commitment throughout.”
Construction got under way in early March, with steel piling swiftly taking place at the site following a groundbreaking event. The project was brought forward by Artium Commercial in partnership with Helios Real Estate, with Artium Construction acting as main contractor. Delivery has been supported by an experienced professional team, including XL Associates as employer’s agent, Brown & Company as architect, HJCE as engineer, and Orbis as MEP consultant.
At the groundbreaking, Mr Watson said: “Retail is a sector we know inside out. I’ve spent years delivering major schemes across Yorkshire, including Thorpe Park, so we understand what occupiers need, what landlords expect and how to keep a scheme moving efficiently from ground-breaking to opening day.
“Brough is a strong scheme in a well-connected location, and our integrated model means we can deliver it with the kind of pace and certainty that makes a real difference. We’ve built this business on sound financial foundations — no external debt, a strong cash position, and every pound generated within the business — and that gives us the platform to take on schemes like this and deliver them properly.”
