The Black and Whites have made four more performance staff appointments.
Hull FC have made four more additions to bolster their 2027 performance staff under incoming head coach Steve McNamara next season.
As reported by Hull Live last week, the club have appointed Sue Thompson as First Team Manager & Welfare Lead. Thompson joins the club after a lengthy 15-year stint at Hull KR. She will ‘oversee the day-to-day running of the club’s rugby operations, combined with her welfare role, which will see offering high-quality support to players and staff.’
Elsewhere, the club have made another addition from Rovers, with Harry Coyle also making the cross-city move. Coyle had both sports science and performance-related roles over the last two seasons and will join Hull as Performance Coach.
The club will also see the return of Kieran Smith, who re-joins as Head of Strength of Conditioning. Smith had a five-year spell at Hull from 2018 to 2023, first via the foundation and then the academy. He has spent the last three years at Hull City as the Tigers’ Head of Academy Physical Performance.
Ash Simpson has also been appointed as First-Team Kit & Equipment Manager. Simpson is a well known figure in the community game and will ‘oversee kit, equipment, and other key organisational areas within the first-team setup at the training ground and on match days.’
The quartet join the likes of Jimmy McDaniel as Head of Performance, Dave Ferguson as Head Physiotherapist, and Nathan Mill as High Performance Specialist, with change very much the word as Hull look to put a disappointing season behind them.
On the coaching setup, Scott Taylor will link up with McNamara alongside Andy Last, while former Super League player Josh Drinkwater is also set to join the club.
