Hull KR could hand out as many as six first-team debuts at Wigan Warriors on Thursday night, with head coach Willie Peters making some significant changes to his 21-man squad.
The Robins go into the clash on the back of two successive defeats, having played three games in a ten-day period. In fact, just nine players who featured against Toulouse Olympique last Saturday evening are named, with some significant first-team players absent due to injury and suspension.
Missing the clash are Tom Davies, Peta Hiku, Joe Burgess, Jez Litten, Dean Hadley, James Batchelor, Elliot Minchella, and Ryan Hampshire. Already ruled out for the Wigan clash, Mikey Lewis and Tevita Pangai Junior sit out due to suspension, with Tyrone May and Jai Whitbread still injured.
Peters is now set to debut some young players, with Cobie Wainhouse, Dec Murphy, Frankie Dearlove, Alife Woods, Ryan Westerman and Flynn Holden all named. They are joined by Lee Kershaw and Harvey Horne, who could make their Super League debuts for the club, having featured in the Challenge Cup earlier this year.
The Wigan game will be the Robins’ fourth in 14 days. The side sit just two points ahead of seventh-placed St Helens with three rounds of the regular season to go but have a vastly superior points difference to the Saints, who they meet in the final round.
