Striker Mason Burstow looks set to be on his way out of Hull City as he looks to secure a move elsewhere and play regular football this coming season.
The former Chelsea youngster is attracting strong interest from Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday, who are in talks over a season-long loan move, with those discussions likely to move rapidly over the next 24 hours.
Burstow is currently in Slovenia with the City squad, who are preparing for life in the Premier League, and the 22-year-old played 30 minutes in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Konyaspor.
It’s expected that Burstow will not fly on to Istanbul with the rest of Sergej Jakirovic’s squad on Wednesday, and will instead head straight back to England to complete the formalities of his switch to Hillsborough, assuming there are no unexpected late hitches.

Last term, the forward spent the season on loan at Bolton Wanderers and enjoyed a terrific campaign, especially in the first half of it when he scored a flurry of goals.
In total, Burstow netted 12 times for the Trotters to help the club return to the Championship, but it now looks like he will return to League One with the aim of helping the Owls bounce straight back to the second tier at the first time of asking.
The frontman, who has two goals and one assist in 32 games for the Tigers, joined the MKM Stadium club two years ago in a £2m deal from Stamford Bridge, signing a four-year deal which included a 12-month option.
Burstow’s departure is set to be the latest exit from the MKM Stadium, and it’s likely there will be other temporary departures in the coming weeks, as City look to give regular football to fringe squad members that are unlikely to feature in the Premier League.
