Services on offer include housing advice, community safety, health and wellbeing, employment and skills, money advice, addiction support and community activities
A pilot scheme which aims to provide a one-stop community hub for Bridlington residents will launch next week. People in Bridlington are able to access a wide range of face-to-face support and information through the new Community Hub pilot, launching on August 3. Services on offer include housing advice, community safety, health and wellbeing, employment and skills, money advice, addiction support and community activities and signposting.
The pilot will run every Monday, from Monday 3 August to Monday 14 September at Bridlington Town Council Office, on Marshall Avenue, with the exception of the bank holiday, Monday 31 August. It will run from 1pm to 3pm and feature a one-stop shop where residents can gain all kinds of support. No appointment is needed and East Riding of Yorkshire Council is encouraging members to attend and find out what support is available.
The hub has been developed as part of the ongoing Clear, Hold, Build (CHB) programme in Bridlington. The programme takes a partnership approach to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour, support communities, and create lasting improvements for residents. The Community Hub supports the next stage of that work, bringing local services in one accessible location, to help residents access support and strengthen community connections.
Councillor Lyn Healing, East Riding of Yorkshire Council Cabinet Member for Communities and Public Protection, said: “We’re dedicated to supporting stronger and more resilient communities, and the community hub is a practical way of giving residents direct access to support and advice. This pilot is about making it easier for residents to access services, face-to-face, and ensuring that services are visible and responsive to local needs.”
